“I’ve arrived, NYC! And this time, as a guest professor at New York University, NYU,” celebrated Djamila on her Instagram profile.
The Brazilian philosopher is now living just 10 minutes away from the place where she will begin teaching in September. Initially, Djamila will be part of the faculty of the Andrés Bello Chair in Latin American Cultures and Civilizations for six months.
Additionally, at the end of August, Yale University Press will release the highly anticipated ‘Where We Stand,’ the English edition of ‘Lugar de Fala,’ and Djamila is preparing two new books.
“I also have events planned to launch the English edition of ‘Lugar de Fala’ in several American cities and two books to write!” she highlighted, emphasizing the opportunity she will have, in this new phase, to dedicate herself to studies.
“But now I have something that is valuable and I haven’t always had: time. I will dedicate myself to studies, classes, and my academic work. It’s the first time I’m living abroad, and I’m excited about the possibilities! I thank everyone at the university for the opportunity. My ancestors are happy! ❤️🏹🔥🕊🦚.”
