On February 19th, Djamila Ribeiro led the inaugural master class of the academic year at Zumbi dos Palmares University, in São Paulo. Until the 23rd, the institution is hosting its Academic Week, with a series of activities for the students.
The Instagram profile of Zumbi dos Palmares University highlighted the importance of the Brazilian philosopher’s participation in the event: “Djamila Ribeiro shone brightly while inaugurating the Academic Week at Universidade Zumbi dos Palmares! The renowned philosopher shared her insightful ideas on ‘place of speech’, the central theme of her acclaimed book, with an audience of approximately 250 students. Monday night, the 19th, at the Carolina Maria de Jesus auditorium will be marked in the academic history of these young people. Her smiles and hugs marked this day in the history of Zumbi dos Palmares University!”
