Carnival is coming—lots of celebration and joy! But also, unfortunately, many cases of violence against women. General data reveals that, in 2023, over 250,000 cases of domestic violence were registered in Brazil. These alarming figures highlight a reality many women face daily.

With this in mind, Djamila Ribeiro, president of Espaço Feminismos Plurais, and Rosilene Pimentel, social worker and coordinator of Casa Rosângela Rigo, will host a special live session on how to identify signs of violence during Carnival, including channels for reporting incidents and protecting women.

Mark your calendar! It happens this Tuesday, February 25, at 7 pm, on the Espaço Feminismos Plurais YouTube channel!

Booklet against violence

In November 2024, Espaço Feminismos Plurais launched the booklet “Is this really love? – Confronting Violence Against Women”. Created by Djamila and Rosilene, this material provides guidance on recognizing cycles of violence, how to report abuse, and accessing support and protection networks. It also includes information about available public services.

An unmissable live session to get informed and enjoy Carnival with respect and safety.
