Forest Protection Day: São Paulo Academy of Letters Promotes Tree-Planting Initiative

On Instagram, Djamila Ribeiro spoke about the social action carried out on Wednesday, July 17:
“Today, on Forest Protection Day, the São Paulo Academy of Letters promoted a beautiful tree-planting event at Martin Luther King Park. Each academic planted a tree in honor of the patron of their chair. I planted a cambuci tree in honor of Caetano de Campos, a Brazilian doctor and educator, and the patron of chair 28.
This important initiative, conceived by Leandro Karnal (@leandro_karnal) and carried forward by Renato Nalini (@renato_nalini), became a wonderful movement for the environment and remembrance. By planting trees, we also plant knowledge about important figures in our country’s history.
Congratulations to the São Paulo Academy of Letters (@academiapaulistadeletras) for this essential social action!
P.S.: They say that in life we should write a book, have a child, and plant a tree. Well, mission accomplished haha.”
