“Mulheres Guerreiras de Camaragibe” project receives complete kit from the Feminismos Plurais Collection

Since 2017, the Feminismos Plurais (Plural Feminisms) Collection has been transforming the Brazilian publishing scene by publishing works by Black authors, in partnership with the Jandaíra publishing house. With affordable prices, didactic language, and a predominantly Black bibliography, the collection already has 14 titles published and more than 500,000 copies sold, significantly impacting public debate.

In addition to its relevance in the publishing market, the Feminismos Plurais Collection also stands out for its social work. For years, donations have been made to social projects and community libraries, contributing to strengthening of education and culture in communities across the country. On February 28th, the “Mulheres Guerreiras de Camaragibe” (“Women Warriors of Camaragibe”) project received a complete kit of books from the collection, handed over by its coordinator Ceça Santos (check out the video of the kit delivery moment).

Since 2013, the initiative has supported and empowered peripheral women in Pernambuco, promoting financial autonomy and helping to combat all types of violence.

Djamila Ribeiro highlighted the kit delivery: “Our goal has always been to democratize quality critical thinking. May the Feminismos Plurais Collection further strengthen the women participating in this beautiful project. I’ll be back to Pernambuco soon and want to meet the project in person! We continue with the ethical and political commitment to our people.”
